Denver is known as the “mile high city”. It lies at the South Platte River and the junction of Cherry Creek. Denver is the capital of Colorado which is the cultural and economic center of a wide area. It is extending over the Great Plains. Denver is the city of the renowned University of Colorado Medical Center and the University of Denver. This city is a major destination for business travel, an important industrial center and a good base station for trips into the Rockies. Denver has an agreeable continental climate, with plenty of sunshine and very low rainfall. In the year 1858, Gold was discovered on Cherry Creek.

After that a large number of gold miners came to this place and settled here for living. There are three gold diggers settlements here; these are Auraria, Denver amalgamated and Highland. They formed a new city in 1868. When this place had a population of 4000, it became a capital of Colorado. Railroad came to this city in 1870, after that it became a capital of 38^th state in the USA. In the 20^th century, total population of this city was 134,000. Denver was developed as an industrial center and important traffic hub. A large airport was built in 1994. It became an important tourist and business center.  Denver has many parks and recreation centers. Tourists can get the opportunity of many relaxation opportunities here.

Mount Evans

It is an attractive tourist spot in Denver. There are Idaho Springs which have highest mountain road in the USA. The height of the Mount Evans is 14,266 ft. Many tourists come to this place to see the breathtaking panoramic views out over the mountains and valley below. Various types of wildlife are available in this area.  Tourists can meet with bighorn sheep, marmots, mountain goats and Pika.  According to the report of Denver Highways, The Mount Evans Highway is a seasonal road which is always open in summer but closed in winter season. It reopens in late of May. Mount Evans gates are busy on summer vacation where a large number of visitors visit this place.

Museum of Nature and Science

It is another exciting place in Denver. It is called the Museum of Nature and Science.  This museum is famous for Dinosaur skeletons and other animals of Ice age. Tourists can see the collection of minerals presented by the Coors family, and one of the largest nuggets of gold found in Colorado. There are many artifacts of American Indian people. The authority of the museum collects changing exhibitions so that visitors can understand the trends of American history.

Denver Center for the Performing Arts

It is located on the south side of Larimer Square. It is known as the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, a gigantic cultural center with the Boettcher Concert Hall and the Auditorium Theater with the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Tourists can watch a Broadway Show and other entertaining elements.
