Chronic Fatigue

How to Cope With Chronic Fatigue?

If you’ve been struggling with chronic fatigue, you shouldn’t just ignore the problem. Not only can fatigue be a symptom of a more serious problem, but in many cases, this condition is highly treatable. The sooner you see a doctor, the sooner you’ll find relief.

While insomnia can certainly contribute to feelings of fatigue, a lack of sleep isn’t always the root cause. In fact, even if you address insomnia through effective treatments like medications and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), these issues may persist. If you truly want to stop feeling fatigued, it’s best to look at potential causes and make changes to your habits.

Have you ever felt exhausted, but haven’t been able to relax or fall asleep? Surprisingly, when you think about how badly fatigue is making you feel, it’s more likely that those feelings will persist. Find a way to distract yourself from those feelings. Try getting up and moving around or engaging in an activity that you enjoy.

Get as comfortable as possible. Your bedroom should be conducive to sleep. Your mattress should offer you support. These mattresses to buy at Sam’s Club will help you to get a great night’s sleep.

Work to become more active. You don’t necessarily have to put in long sessions at the gym, but you should try to boost your physical activity levels.

You should also pay attention to what you eat. Some foods can cause you to feel drowsy or can lead to a sugar crash later on. Choose nourishing foods that will help you to keep your energy levels high throughout the day.

Cut back on caffeine. While caffeine can help you to feel more alert in the short term, those feelings will eventually wear off, and you’ll experience a crash.

Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Dehydration is a common cause of fatigue.

Find ways to keep your stress in check. Although stress can often lead to feelings of fatigue, there are plenty of ways to deal with stress. Whether you start meditating, try yoga, spend more time on activities you love, or seek out sources of support, you should find coping mechanisms that help you manage your stress levels effectively.

Give yourself breaks throughout the day. If sitting in a chair is leaving you feeling stiff, or if staring at a screen is making your eyes water, it’s time to do something else. Just taking a few minutes to stretch can increase your energy levels and improve your productivity.
